FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

This FAQ covers the questions people most often ask about high-IQ societies and clears up a few common misunderstandings. If you’re wondering about intelligence testing, membership, or what we’re all about, you’ll find straightforward, friendly answers below. And if you’re still curious, feel free to reach out to us anytime.

Is joining a high-IQ society about proving how smart I am?

Not really. For most members, joining is less about proving anything and more about finding people who feel like peers. The test is a filter, not a trophy. It’s a way to bring like-minded people together. Once you’re in, intelligence quickly fades into the background and conversation takes over.

Does membership mean I’ll fit in automatically?

Shared cognitive ability helps, but it doesn’t magically create instant friendships. People are still people with different personalities and styles. Think of it as creating better chances for meaningful connection, while still leaving room for effort, empathy, and kindness.

What if I’m curious but unsure about my IQ?

Curiosity alone is a good starting point. Many societies, including Mensa Thailand Initiative, can point you towards reputable testing options or accept scores from a range of professionally administered exams. Exploring the idea does not commit you to join anything.

Are high-IQ societies elitist?

They can sometimes be misunderstood as such, but elitism comes from attitudes, not criteria. A society that values curiosity, openness, and respect can use objective membership standards without treating anyone as lesser.

Can high intelligence be a burden?

At times, yes. Feeling out of sync with peers, chronic boredom, or social misunderstanding are common experiences reported by highly intelligent people. High-IQ societies do not “fix” these challenges, but they can make them feel less lonely.

Do members only talk about abstract or academics topics?

Not at all. Conversations range from philosophy to science to art to everyday life. The difference is not what is discussed, but how freely and deeply discussions can unfold.

What does Thai High IQ Society do?

We seek out, connect, and support high-IQ people in their personal growth. Together, we also work on projects that aim to create meaningful impact in society.

What should I do if I want to become a member of Mensa Thailand Initiative?

That’s great to hear! The only requirement is an IQ score within the top 2% of the population. If you want to learn more or already have qualifying test results , please contact us today.
